Jaclyn Palmerino
Currently I am in the M.Acc. program at the University of Florida's. I have an audit internship this summer with KPMG, LLP in their Atlanta, GA office. After I graduate I plan to work for KPMG or any of the other Big 4 CPA firms as an auditor. I hope to eventually work in the forensics department at a CPA firm.
Background
I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, but have gone to college in Gainesville, FL the last 4 years. I have enjoyed the small town feel of Gaineville, but I look forward to living in a big city. I was lucky enough to be able to go home for the summer my first two years in college. I have great memories of those summers. I lifeguarded at a city pool at had the opportunity to trave to places like New Hampshire, New York, San DIego, L.A., and Arizona.
Interests
I recently took up golf. I like it a lot and go to the driving range about 4 times a week. I still have a long way to go until I will be ready to play an actual game, but I am enjoying the experience of trying something new.
No matter what new sports I try I will always be a swimming fanatic. I grew up being on a swim team and have always loved the water. In high school I was a water safety instructor and taught kids how to swim. That was someting that gave me a lot of self-fullfillment.
I also enjoy reading about current events and nonfiction books. Most recently I have read Freakonomics and The Smartest Guys in the Room. I love browsing websites such as Wikipedia, Wall Street Journal Online, and MSNBC.com.
Although I do not have a lot of time for T.V., I really enjoy certain T.V. shows such as Lost, Desparate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, and Prison Break. I rarely catch them when they air and I do not have Tivo yet. I am hoping to purchase one this summer. Until them I will just have to keep renting them from Blockbuster when they come out on DVD.
One of my biggest passions is traveling. I have been fortunate enough to travel to various parts of the United States, but there are still a lot of places I want to go such as San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, and anywhere in Colorado. I really like it out west. Of course I would really love to travel internationally. I've never been out of the country and I hope I will have many opportunities to travel overseas in the future. I am going to the Bahamas this coming may. Does that count as international travel?
