April 1996 – Present:

 

University of Florida, Video & Collaboration Services, (Senior Engineer)

·Responsible for all aspects of design, implementation, operation, testing, and maintenance for video related systems including: campus-wide cable television distribution; streaming video distribution; H.320 and H.323 videoconferencing services, network infrastructure, and endpoints; satellite downlink services; point-to-point video distribution via fiber and MPEG-2 over Ethernet; and IP Telephony

·Serve on various UF committees and task forces including currently as Chair, ITAC-Video Technical Committee, ex officio member of ITAC-Video Advisory Committee

·Responsible for overall management of Video & Collaboration Services including: short and long-term planning, budget, personnel, departmental Web presence, coordination with other campus units, and integration with Network Services

·Assist with long-term campus-wide planning for infrastructure build-out, service expansion, and the establishment of standards

·Helped organize and maintain campus-wide inter-unit cooperation, planning, purchasing, and service integration

·Received numerous letters of commendation from the University President for outstanding contribution towards completion of special projects and new service roll-outs

 

November 1994 – April 1996: (Promoted to Senior Engineer)

·Planned, installed, configured and maintained CIRCA network equipment and infrastructure including twisted-pair, fiber and coax cabling, hubs, switches, bridges, routers and network management systems making extensive use of various equipment including fiber termination kits, packet capture hardware and protocol analyzers (IP, Appletalk, IPX, VLans, Multicast, etc.), SNMP monitoring stations, network traffic generators
