I’m a Ph. D. Candidate in Linguistics at the University of Florida. I completed my M. A. in 2004 with a specialization in phonetics and computational linguistics of tonal languages. I am currently a Teaching Assistant for The Structure of Human Language, as well as a Research Assistant in the Linguistics Lab working with Dr. Wayland on tone perception and acquisition. I’ve also been a TA for Sounds of Human Language. Prior to doing graduate work in Linguistics, I lived in Beijing, China for one year as a visiting student in Speech Group, Microsoft Research Asia and finished my M.A. thesis on accent assignment among different reading styles in Mandarin. I received both B.A. in English and M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Zhejiang University, China.
