Educational Background...
Undergraduate...
I received my bachelor's degrees in mathematics and economics from Doane College. Doane College is a small liberal arts college (1000 students) just southwest of Lincoln. I chose Doance College because of its excellent educational reputation and beautiful campus. While at Doane College, I was the Social Committee Chair and Treasurer of Alpha Pi Epsilon fraternity as well as a Doane Ambassador.
Graduate School in Economics at the University of Florida...
I specialized in Industrial Organization, Public Economics, and Econometrics and received my Master's Degree in Economics in 2006. My dissertation is a compilation of three essays on Regulation in Environmental Economics. The first is an essay on the effectiveness of state renewable energy policies. The second essay explains the theory behind cost inefficiencies in the Sulfur Dioxide Trading Program resulting from long-term coal contract constraints or rigities. The third essay will run model simulations that estimate the actual inefficiencies caused by long-term coal contracts. I intend to receive my PhD in Economics in August 2008.
After Graduate School...
I intend to get a position at a quality research university, non-profit or government organization, or consulting firm at which I can continue my research in regulatory environmental economics.
