Terminal Objective
Following guidelines established by the teacher and rules created by the class, Web Groups will create and maintain a class Website updated every Web Week.

Enabling Objectives - Fall

Objective 1A - Internet Safety/Ethical Issues
Begun August 9 (Monday of week 2)
Due September 2 (Thursday of week 5)
Homework: After reviewing the Internet Safety Plan together, students and parents will sign and return the detachable portion by Friday, September 3.
Classwork: After reviewing the Internet Safety Plan in class with the teacher and turning in their forms, individual students will answer 10 ethics questions and must earn a C before they can use the Internet. (retakes available)

Objective 1B - Basic Dreamweaver Skills
Begun September 2 (Thursday of week 5)
Due September 17 (Friday of week 7)
After being guided through basic steps to create a Dreamweaver page by the teacher, individual students will have 2 lab days to create a sample page on a topic of their choice. The page must contain at least one heading, one image, one body paragraph, one link, and one email link.

Objective 2 - Teamwork (Rules)
Begun September 24 (Friday of week 8)
Due September 24 (Friday of week 8)
After participating in the class discussion on rules for teamwork, groups of 2-3 students will create a poster demonstrating a teamwork rule from the orally generated class list.

Objective 3 - Outlining and Summarizing Information (Class Notes)
Begun September 27 (Monday of week 9)
Due October 1 (Friday of week 9)
Using one of the methods discussed in class, individual students will outline the information in their children's book from home.

Objective 4 - News Stories (Class News)
Begun October 18 (Monday of week 11)
Due October 22 (Friday of week 11)
Using articles brought from home, students will identify the who, what, when, where, why and how of the article. They will also generate a list of at least 5 questions the reporter had to ask to write the article.

Objective 5 - Current Events (Current Events)

Begun October 25 (Monday of week 12)
Due October 29 (Friday of week 12)
After comparing articles and conferring among themselves, each group of 4-5 students will generate a list of at least 5 acceptable current events topics and share 1-2 of them for a class list.

Objective 6 - Biographies (People)

Begun November 1 (Monday of week 13)
Due November 5 (Friday of week 13)
After reading and comparing sample biographies, groups of 2-3 students will generate at least 10 questions to ask in a biography interview and share at least 2 of them for a class list.

Objective 7 - Writing a Good Review (Entertainment)

Begun November 8 (Monday of week 14)
Due November 12 (Friday of week 14)
After comparing several reviews brought from home with the class, individual students will write reviews on their children's books from home.

Objective 8A - Communications Skills (Email)

Begun November 15 (Monday of week 15)
Due November 18 (Friday of week 15)
After listening to the business letter presentation, individual students will write replies to their letters to the editor samples.

Objective 8B - Proofreading

Begun November 18 (Friday of week 15)
Due November 18 (Friday of week 15)
Using the proofreading marks handout they received earlier in the year, individual students will proofread a neighbor's letter.

Objective 9 - Templates

Computer lab visits in October and November (weeks 10 and 16)
Begun December 3 (Friday of week 17)
Due December 10 (Friday of week 18)
Part A: Using guidelines provided by the teacher, student Web Groups will create appropriate folders for storing information on the network.
Part B: Using all Dreamweaver notes and sample pages for reference, student Web Groups will create a template page for their first assigned rotation, including all headers, pictures, links, and email links.

Enabling Objectives - Spring

Objective 10 - Web Week Stories
For every Web Week, after selecting or being assigned a requirement from the requirements list, students will submit a hard copy of this requirement, proofread by 2 other students, on the assigned date.

Objective 11 - Proofreading
For every Web Week, individual students must proofread at least 2 of their other group members' stories using the proofreading marks list they received earlier in the year.

Objective 12 - Updating
For every Web Week, the webmaster will update the assigned page using prepared materials from group members' disks.

Objective 13 - Conferences
For every Web Week, group members must prepare notes using the Requirements guidelines to bring to Conferences.

Objective 14 - Check Marks
For every Web Week, the Secretary must check off daily tasks on a laminated sheet by the teacher's desk using a dry erase marker.
