Driving Directions to meeting location, parking, food, and hotels

To get to Gainesville, take I-75 (either south from I-10 or north from all points south).

Exit I-75 (northbound or southbound) at exit 387, which is marked as Newberry Road/SR-26. Take Newberry Road east, towards the University of Florida. Remain on SR-26 when SR-26A forks off. Newberry Road becomes University Avenue.

After 4.5 miles on Newberry Road/University Ave/SR-26 you will arrive at the crossroad NW 17th St, also known as Buckman Road. Turn right here to get to the chemistry buildings, mapped below.

To get to pay parking for the conference site, instead turn left on NW 17th St, turn left at NW 1st Ave (the first left) and turn in to the fenced parking area on your right. This is the St. Augustine Church parking lot and maximum parking costs are $10 per day.

To get to hotels, continue through the intersection of NW 17th St and W University Ave on University. The Holiday Inn Express is four blocks ahead, on the far left corner of the intersection of W University Ave and NW 13th St. To get to the other hotel, turn right at NW 13th St. The Paramount Plaza hotel is on the right in two miles.

There are a number of dining establishments within walking distance of the conference site. A map is below.

If you would like to use any other map software to get around Gainesville, the way to find the conference site again is to get directions to the intersection of NW 17th St and W University Ave. This will take you to an intersection just north of the conference site, as seen on the map below.

This map shows the relative locations of the conference buildings. They are along the right-hand (east) side of this map, from north to south: with CLB being the chemistry lab building (poster session, reception), LEI being Leigh Hall (Friday sessions), and CSE being the location of the Saturday sessions. A more complete map of campus can be found at http://campusmap.ufl.edu.

This map shows convenient dining for dinners Friday and Saturday and lunch Saturday. The parking lot mentioned above is just northwest of the Pita Pit complex.
