Project 3: Plenum
understanding of the space between, the interstitial
exploration of materials and construction

Project 4: Vessel
construction at full-scale and understanding of materials and joints
connection of design and tangible functionalities

Project 5: Campus Analysis
analysis through physical experience, understanding of site
suggested interventions within a site that respond to analysis

Second semester studios also include a free-hand sketching component that is incorporated into the projects and explore the event of seeing. Exercises focus on relationships between objects, light and shadow, contour, proportion and scale, density and movement. Graduate Teaching Associates take one course that extensively and intensely runs through all exercises, and includes disscussion of issues on the execution of these exercises in a design studio.
