Welcome

But why?

Legality

Now, I'm not about to give a lecture on what's right and wrong or compare downloading music to shoplifting, but I would hope you agree there are things we can do, while still enjoying music, that can still help support the artists. This could mean different things for different people. I see paying $40 to see a live act (and maybe even springing for that $20 t-shirt, just as valid a way to support musicians you dig as buying their albums. Some of the websites I mention here let you support them by paying just 99 cents. Others let you actually choose how much you want to go to the artist themselves! What I will say, is if you want your favorite music act to survive, it is a good idea to support them financially.

Is everyone going to stop using Kazaa right away? Heavens no! Will p2p die someday? I sure as hell hope not. For those who are ready to pay for music, I have reviewed some online music stores. For those who aren't quite comfortable making the leap to paid music, check out some places where you can listen to music online, or even discover new artists for free, legally.

Who am I?

My name is Taylor McKnight. I'm a music lover. Especially live shows. I tend to favor indie, punk, some emo, rock, and oldies the most. I'm also in the process of starting a band. I'm learning bass. If you have a suggestion for a band name let me know.
