Muscle Cars In the Media

Despite the loss, muscle cars were not lost and forgotten. Some of the most popular television shows at the time featured muscle cars. For example, the "Dukes of Hazzard" had one of the most famous vehicles, the General Lee. The car was a 1969 Dodge Charger with an orange paint job, a number 1 decal on the doors, and a confederate flag on the roof. Already this showed the driver's personality. Just the decal gives away that he loves to race, and what better than a muscle car to do it. Another show that featured a muscle car is "Starsky and Hutch." It featured a 1974 Ford Torino. It can be argued that without these cars, the shows would have had little impact on its viewers. The car chase scenes just wouldn't have been the same. Just recently, an old Camaro from the muscle car era was featured in the movie "Transformers." Even on modern day television, there are numerous shows that include the rebuilding of old muscle cars and other classic vehicles.
