AMH 6557: History of American Law

 

This is a graduate level historical introduction to the origins and development of American law, constitutional principles and legal institutions and of their influence upon the distribution of social, economic and political power. In Spring 2001, the course will examine whether law in US history was a means of social control, or a method by which people could challenge the status quo.
