How do you define race? Race is very much a part of our everyday lives. However, when pressed to define race, people find the task particularly troublesome. Is it based on physical features? Genetics? Ancestry? Culture?
Although "race" is a very ubiquitous word, there is no generally agreed-upon definition. The information on this site aims to present a number of different perspectives regarding the basis of race, and do not represent the views and opinions of the authors or the University of Florida.
