Weekly Report 3 (5/26/05)

Right after Thursday’s class I finally learned which software I need to program my board.  So the very next day on Friday I downloaded the programs and programmed my board to make the LED light up, I also tried to understand the code that I got from the BD micro website.  I understood some of it, enough to alter the speed of the led, but it was not completely clear.  I am continuing to do research on parts that I want to get.  I already obtained my sonar sensor the SRF04 and have put a header on it so I can make cables to attach to my board.  I have also done this procedure to my LCD screen and am working on interfacing it with my board.  I am also thinking about making my robot with four wheels each connected to four servos, I was wondering if that is harder to work with or if it a good idea.  Also I was maybe going to by a robot body is that okay for the class?

A third thing is that I am having trouble with the programming aspect of the robot, are there any websites or anything that you might suggest to me so I can get better acquainted with C.  I have seen the tips on the IMDL webpage and I was wondering if there were any more out there.
