Cynthia Hsien Shen is a
native Chinese.
She grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She was awarded a B.A. degree in
Sociology
from the National Taiwan University. She pursued her
graduate
studies in the U.S. She received her M.A. and Ph. D.
degrees
from the University of Cincinnati, and Cornell University
respectively.
She taught and served in various positions
at
the Gainesville Chinese School before she joined the Department of
African
& Asian Languages and Literatures as an instructor. She has been
teaching for seven years at UF.
