Growing Up

I was born June 12th, 1984 in Shelton, a small town in southwest Connecticut. There isn't much to do in Shelton, so I led a pretty boring childhood. I have a brother and a sister, both younger, and a dog. Oddly, my dad, brother, and I all share the same birthday, 6/12. I think my parents must have planned it that way, it's too random for them not to have. When I got to high school I got straight A's, but the majority of my free time was spent with athletics. Football in the fall, wrestling in the winter, track & field in the spring. The sport I did the best in was football. I was a two year starter, and my junior year we won the state championship. I loathe having played football now. I look back and see hundreds of afternoons, wasted. The sport I have the fondest memories of was undoubtedly the most intense and physically demanding, wrestling. I like to challenge myself, and I've never met a more dedicated group of individuals. At the end of high school, I applied to several top scholastic universities. And got rejected or wait-listed by all of them. So now I'm at UF, and I'm happier than I ever could have been at those other schools.

College Life

I'm currently a second year Psychology major at UF. I live in Lexington Crossings with my roommate Jacob. College is harder than high school and I didn't do well last year. I'm working to bring up my GPA this semester and so far I'm doing well in all my classes. I lived in Hume last year, and that's where I know most of my friends from. We partied hard last year but we've cut back this semester (though we probably still have a little too much fun). So far college is everything I thought it would be, and some that I couldn't have guessed. Right now I'm just trying to get out of here with degree in hand.
