Hello everyone my name is Michael Eckhard...I am 19 years old and a freshman at the University of Florida. I am majoring in telcomunnication and hope to pursue a carreer in the news. I am a big fan of sports especially baseball. I also love the outdoors and often go fishing as well as hunting. I grew up in miami florida my whole life and where my parents still live. Question: Why do you think a Web presence is essential for businesses of all sizes?
In todays society where the internet is used more and more everyday it is crucial that businesses have some sort of a website no matter how big or small they are. By having web presence consumers can convieniently access thier products. Also, by having a web presence it will allow consumers to preview and become better informed on what a business has to offer. It is almost a necessity for businesses to have a web page in the growing interest in the world wide web.
In the growing buisness world today podcasts are becomming more beneficial in a society of constant growing technology. It is a great idea for a business to include a podcast on thier website. This allows possible customers to hear general information on the product or porducts being sold or advertised. It is also very convenient and prevents customers from having to contact a business representative to be informed. Podcasts give the customers a feeling of comformt as well when hearing someone speak to them rather than just reading information on the computer screen. In the business environment email is very likely one of the most efficient ways of communicating. Not only is it easy but there are ways of signing and encrypting emails to give credibility and safety to the sender. Extremely important information is sent through emails. This cna put many businesses at risk because any given person with the knowledge of stealing information over the internet can obtain the email and aquire the information. By encrypting emails a person can be sure thier information that they are sending is safe. Encrypting an email simply codes the information a certain way where only the recipient of the email can obtain the information. This protects businesses from identity theft, data loss, or even worse. Every day people get thier identity stolen by hackers on the internet and usually due to information stolen through email. In most cases it could have been prevented by simply encrypting thier messages or emails. It is extremely important for businesses to always encrypt any emails that contain important data. Identity theft is becoming more and more important in todays times and thier is simple solutions to preventing this. Signing emails also proves to be beneficial in the business world. Signing an email gives the sender credibility and proves who they are. This will give others comfort when receiving emails in that they will know who they are dealing with.
This business world is extremely competitive in its entirety. Everyday is an on going challenge to be successful. Most businesses are not run alone so cooperation and teamwork is crucial for a business to be successful. Collaborative computing is a great way for employees to have a chance to work together and share ideas.
Collaborative computing helps keep a businesses organized as well. Employees can work together to discuss topics and ideas giving each other constructive criticism in order to better their work or project. Collaborative computing links a business and all of its departments together. Employees will use this strategy to keep a steady team effort in producing their work or products.
Using Sharepoint I have gained first hand experience on collaborative computing. I learned that in order for this to work every team member needs to participate and remain active to produce the best possible work. Through discussions with my teammates, we came up with a great piece of work and it might have been hard without the process of collaborative computing. In conclusion businesses use this process in their daily work just as we as students did. Collaborative computing can prove to be very beneficial in the business world.
The excel program has not always been my program of chioce. I always found that it was too complicted to use and to a very long time to organize any data. After completeing this portion of the project i now realize i was wrong. I learned many new skills including text functions, creating a pivot table, and the use of goal seeking. Text functions allowed me to pick apart certain data and oraganize it into a manner that is easier to understand. The pivot table skill i learned allowed me to present the data in a very organized and concise table. This would make it easy to understand and make sense to anyone viewing the data. Lastly the goal seeking skill i learned allowed data in a very organized and concise table. All of these skills are very benficial in becoming efficient when using excell. Any person working with data in hte business world or just in general would greatly benefit from learning these skills.
In today’s society many people are involved in the business world. To be successful in the business world it is necessary to be efficient and be well organized. Applications such as Microsoft Access further enhance a person’s ability to be successful in the business world. Through different tools including constructing tables, making queries, relations, and reports, Microsoft Access aids the process of become efficient in business aspects. Through completing the database project I have successfully learned how to use the application and most of its components.
The tables I created were a good way to organize data along with being able to pull apart data and reorganize into other tables. The descriptive views on the tables were a good way to set up standards for easier data input. It was easy to navigate through the different views. Constructing queries were a great way to pull up data from the tables by simply using query wizards. These queries were another way to organize the data.
Reports were beneficial in displaying specific data in an efficient organized manner as well. The trend I learned in Microsoft Access was to become well organized and to pick apart data and show their relations towards one another. The business world is all about becoming organized and after completing this part of the project I can say I am one step closer in becoming successful in the business world. I hope to only become more knowledgeable in this application and thus making me more successful in the business world.
