My name is Christy Rogers and I am a native Floridian. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. I attended high school at Robert E. Lee High home of the fighting generals. In May of 2002 I earned my BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering) at the University of North Florida, located in Jacksonville. Currently I am working on my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida in Gainesville. I am still a Seminole at heart, though I do root for the Gators every game except when they play the Seminoles.
At the University of Florida I am a part of the Computational and Neural Engineering Laboratory. My research is closely tied with the Brain Machine Interface project I am working on.
At the foundation of my life lies my relationship
with God. I try to live my life in accordance to God's will in all aspects of my
life, though at times I fail and sin, my life is a humble attempt to imitate
Jesus Christ, God's only son who He sent to die for our sins. To completely
explain my relationship with God would be rather lengthy for you to read, but I
have written down a short explanation that you can read by selecting my testimony.
God has given me a love of learning as well as sports. Though I devote a myriad
of hours to my studies, I find time to enjoy volleyball and basketball. I am
a member at Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville and am part of the FAITH
ministry. I belong to the graduate student Sunday school class at
Westside, which is part of the college
ministry.
