Born and raised in Michigan I have never missed our families annual summer trip back to the mitten state. I cannot think of something better than a Michigan summer. With the clear blue skies and long days filled with the always perfect sunbathing temperatures and the peaceful serenity of the outdoors.
Michigan offers so many places to vacation. My two favorite places to visit consist of a gorgeous lake home right on the clear blue waters of the Michigan lakes and a log hunting cabin so far from civilization cell phones stop working hours before we even arrive.
Nothing beats water skiing, knee boarding and tubing on the lakes of Michigan, the water is so clear and the most beautiful shade of ice blue. I love to get up before the sun and head out onto the lake to catch the water as smooth as glass which creates the ideal condition for perfecting the art of dropping a ski.
Though technology is an incredible tool there is nothing more peaceful then getting away from all the gadgets and focusing on the beauty of nature. I love going trout fishing and nothing beats the thrill of back yard target practice.
