Research Experience

2008-10           Research Assistant, University of Florida, Energy Research Park.

Under supervision of Dr. Ann C. Wilkie.

Duties: Assisting lab members in operating and maintaining anaerobic digesters; independent study of various biofuels; assistance and consultation on gardening procedures in the Energy Gardens; hazardous waste disposal, including developing new protocol; organizing literature databases.

2008-09           Senior Honors Thesis, University of Florida - Howard Hughes Medical Institute Group Advantaged Training of Research (G.A.T.O.R.) Program.

Under supervision of Jada-Simone White and Craig C. Osenberg.

Fellowship program teaching scientific research. Responsibilities: Primary literature searches, project design, photo analysis tracking sediment dynamics and vermetid snail growth through time, attendance at a scientific conference to present work, which is leading to a senior honors thesis and publication.
