Why I
am interested in science
Science and research can answer questions,
offer a firm understanding of the world we live in, and provide a structured,
sound and logical method of coming to conclusions. Curiosity, that manifests
itself as a fascination of the natural world we live in, drives my interest in
science. I see science as a pathway to explaining “how things work”. Scientific
principles can be applied across a myriad of disciplines, offering a way to
combine strengths and invites collaboration across fields to answer these
questions. I treasure diversity; it is the cornerstone of strength as it is
easier to overcome obstacles when there is a wealth of unique approaches to
pull from. Science exists in the spirit of diversity, bringing together many
viewpoints. I believe this combined knowledge has a synergistic effect on the
outcome. I want to find ways of effectively determining the impacts of various
human activities on the natural world. This will require both familiarity with
the scientific method and the ability to pull in knowledge from many fields.
