Reflect on the experience that you had during the Multicultural Card Game that we played in the class session. You probably knew which group your card was in although you could not see the card on your forehead. We learned from this game that we receive clear signals from others about our worth and value.
What are the implications for schools, teachers, and students? What types
of actions should we take? We will explore these issues in this section. In
addition to exploring these issues, we will also learn about four different
approaches to Multicultural Education: the Contributions Approach, the Additive
Approach, the Transformation Approach, and the Social Action Approach.
