This approach includes all of the elements of the Transformation Approach and adds a component that requires students to make decisions and take actions related to the concept, issue, or problem they have studied, e.g., students might write a letter to their congressperson or participate in a community action program to reduce discrimination. Students also learn that before they take action, they need to anticipate possible unfavorable reactions.
