UF-FSU Graduate Student Colloquium

The University of Florida Department of Classics Hosts
the First Annual UF-FSU Graduate Student Colloquium in Classics

General Information

February 07, 2009
Keene Faculty Center (Dauer Hall) and Turlington L005
University of Florida, Gainesville, FL

Description

This colloquium aims at encouraging a scholarly dialogue between the graduate students in Classics at Florida State University and University of Florida.  To this end, we have designed a two-part colloquium.  The morning session consists of two workshops led by dissertating graduate students, one from each school, on their respective areas of research.  The afternoon session consists of graduate student panels on "The Historic and its Record" and "The Tragic and its Representation."  These broad topics are intended to allow a mixture of philological, historical, literary, paleographical, and archaeological papers; papers are by no means limited to these fields.
