| How did you balance all your coursework with research? |
In
summer, I experienced the bliss of my schedule completely free from
conflicts and concentrated solely on my research experience.
Unforunately when fall semester came around,
I did have to do A LOT of time management and reprioritizing. Not only
was I taking a large load of classes including Organic 1, but I also
had tickets to every Gator football game. Submerged in 15 credits as
well as living in a sorority house, there was always opportunities to
distract me from my main goal of success.
However, I just had to keep in mind all the people that I would be letting down if I skipped my deadlines or fell behind in my work. Not only would I dissappoint myself but I would be letting down my lab mates. Maintaining a strict discipline on myself was my antidote to the poison of temptation. I would set a point in my work that I would have to attain before I allowed myself to do what I wanted with my free time. Always keeping a deadline in mind helped me stay on track with all my work.
