Students
not using either a campus computer or a Gator Link connection may be unable to
access the weekly readings through the links on the course homepage. Students with remote access connections should follow the steps below
to retrieve the articles. Remember: it
is the student’s responsibility to access these articles before the due
date. Problems retrieving the articles
should be brought to the instructor’s attention at least 48 hours before the
due date. Most troubleshooting concerns
can also be solved by contacting Library
Services.
1. Go to http://web.uflib.ufl.edu/
2. On this page, look at the third column from the left labeled
"Services"
3. The fourth link down on the column will be called "Off-Campus
Access". Click that link.
4. This should bring you to a page with a big yellow button on the left
hand side labeled "Logon Now". Click that link.
5. Log on with either your library number or your password and user name.
6. ***From this point on, you must get to the article by clicking weblinks
only***
7. From the "successful logon" page, click a link near the top marked
"UF Libraries Homepage"
8. (You are now back where you started, but now you have a proxy connection
so you can use some of the utilities.) Look under the second column from
the left, and click the link marked "Databases & Resources".
9. Do a "Quick Search" for "jstor"
10. Click "Connect Now"
11. You are now on the JSTOR homepage. Click "Search"
next to the eye icon.
12. You will have to enter several things to produce an accurate search
here:

(make sure spelling is correct)
b)
Scroll
down and choose to search in "History" and “History of Science”
journals by clicking the appropriate boxes
c)
The

"articles"
d)
You
can now Click "search"
13.
In your search results should be the article you are looking for.
