About Me
Welcome to my website! I am Arnab Roy, and I got my PhD from the University of Florida in August 2012. My advisor was Dr. Corin Segal. I was born in Calcutta, the capital of the historical Indian state of West Bengal. My early childhood was spent in Philadelphia, PA before my father moved back with us to my hometown where I finished my high school in the year 2003. I received my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University in the year 2007. In the same year, I joined the University of Florida to pursue a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, specializing in PLIF measurements in high pressure and high temperature (supercritical) fuel injection and mixing experiments. This study was conducted to understand the fundamentals of supercritical mixing processes into different species environments. Currently, I am working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My research interests include combustion and mixture formation processes in automotive engines and gas turbines, supercritical fluids and their applications, heat transfer, multi-phase flows and laser-based diagnostics.
