Allison Brooke Hartwig
My name is Allison Brooke Hartwig and I am twenty-two years old. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I moved to Ocala in the middle of my 9th grade year of high school. I received my Associates of Arts degree at Santa Fe Community College, and will be graduating in August from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Business. I have only had one job my entire life and that is at the very best restaurant, Zaxby's. I have earned my way from starting as a cashier at the age of sixteen to now being the District Manager of the three locations in Ocala. I am very busy working full time and going to school full time. My family is a huge part of my life and I will do anything for them. I have a ten year old brother, Trevor, and we are very close. I do my best to make it to all his football, baseball, and soccer games in my spare time. Another big part of my life is my relationship with my boyfriend Zac. He makes me so happy and just fulfills my life. I love spending time with the girls, and just having a girls day or night out. I can't wait to see what lies ahead in my life. I can't wait for the career, the family, and the new friendships to come.

It provides a way of advertising for you and also allows consumers to access your site from all over the world. The internet is accessible to almost everyone now and really widens the amount of people you can reach and potential customers for your business.
Back to listPodcasting seems to be very interesting and useful for businesses. It can be used in many ways, from just a quick commercial for your business, an upcoming sale, it could be used for almost anything. It is a good way to provide information in a different way other than through reading webpage after webpage on the internet. Users can sit and listen to a program describing directions or maybe even a new product out on the market. This could help those who are blind to better utilize the internet and all it has to offer. You could use a podcast for companies over seas to be able to talk to each other, considering the time difference and language these podcasts could be converted to their language and be watched anytime. This was my first time using a podcast, but it looks as if you could add a video stream if you wanted to also. This is called a vodcast when there is both visual and audio. The definition of a podcast is recorded audio, which is usually an MP3 file and is stored on a website for users to download to a computer or portable media player such as an iPod.
Podcasting could also be used for personal use, to just describe you and meet people. You can listen to others podcast and maybe just learn a little something about them. You can meet new friends and just broaden your horizons a little. Podcasting was scary to me at first but this project has definitely opened my eyes to a new technology, and I would definitely be able to create one in the future.
Back to listThe use of secure e-mail is very widespread in the business environment. It definitely has more perks than it has downfalls. You do have to subscribe to an e-mail certificate from a company such as Thawte or Verisign. Most of these companies do allow a free trial period, but once that is up there will be a fee to pay monthly for your certificate to send a secure e-mail. The use of the secure e-mail ensures the sender and the receiver that the message in the e-mail has not been tampered with and does not contain anything that the sender didn't intend to. It is basically just heightened security so no one can enter your e-mail and attach a virus or alter the message that is sent.
A signed e-mail is helpful so the receiver knows exactly who the sender was. This will allow the receiver to make sure they are only opening e-mail from people that they know. Everyone knows that it is very easy to get a virus on the internet if you're not careful. By simply opening an e-mail one might be able to hack into your system and view all of your personal information. They might even be able to look at past websites you have visited, which could be very dangerous because many people do online schooling, or online banking, etc.
An encrypted e-mail is very useful, because only the one computer can open it because you have their public key in use. This allows one to send very confidential information over the internet and we know that only the desired receiver will be able to open and read the contents of our e-mail message. Secure e-mail is definitely something that is utilized in the business environment. It just ensures the security of your message, and does nothing but protect the sender and receiver.
Collaborative computing can be a very useful tool in the business environment if it is utilized correctly. It is a great way to be able to work with different people from all over the world. You can get a different perspective and new ideas from people from all different cultures and backgrounds. It also makes it easier to collaborate with others because of the time differences between countries.
Collaborative computing makes it convenient for anyone in a team. Working people can log on any time whether it is really early in the morning or late at night to make their contribution to a project. It is available twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week, so work can be completed anytime.
The collaborative computing site is also very easy to navigate, even the computer illiterate can figure out how to use the site. Everything on the site is clearly labeled with detailed instructions on how to complete something if at any time you are unsure. It makes it easy to upload pictures for the entire group to use, make surveys to vote so the majority always rules, have detailed commentary that is saved for everyone to view, and a place to keep our continuing changing project. All together collaborative computing seems to be a very developed program to make it easier for people to work together who may have the barriers of not enough time and distance.

Excel is an excellent tool in the business world. The skills I have learned during this project will definitely help me use excel proficiently in the future. I was surprised by all of the things excel is able to do. I explored many of these functions with this project, but it looks as though excel offers a lot more. I use excel in my current job to make our weekly schedules and add up employee hours etc. Excel is a great program to do comparison studies and makes coming to results easy and a straightforward process.
The Pivot table helps to organize the data in a neat and orderly fashion. It presents the data in an easier to use fashion and helps us to better use the data when there are so many numbers to work with. The pivot table I think makes it easier to make assumptions and draw conclusions than just from a whole mess of numbers.
The Goal Seek function is an incredible tool that I never even knew existed. You can find out what you need to do next quarter to meet your new goals and to continue to increase your business. You can also use this to find out if you need to charge a higher price for something or just increase your sales. You can go off last quarter’s sales to determine what needs to be done to meet your new goals you have set for yourself in sales or productivity.
