HCI: Keyboard and Mouse Evaluation Study

Introduction

This study requires you to carryout series of steps by using only keyboard or mouse one at a time. You are presented with a desktop environment of a computer where by you perform different actions through only buttons. You will see four different application images on desktop screen and their associated events attached to them in form of buttons.

Instructions:

Step 1: List of events to be carried out are on left column.

Step 2: Read one event on left and then perform appropriate button event on the right side.

Step 3: Mouse mode: Press 'Begin Test', Keyboard mode: Press key 'b'

Step 4: As soon as you perform the last event on the list timer stops.

Step 5: In mouse mode, you're only allowed to press buttons with mouse.

Step 6: In keyboard mode, you're only allowed to press shorthand keys.

Step 7: Shorthand keys for button actions are listed next to each button.
